About a Glimpse of India Tours
Architecture, culture and traditions…. We take groups on tours to hand picked destinations in India designed to give you a diverse experience. Our intense pride in Indian heritage and culture and an equally intense desire to share it with friends around the world has given birth to ‘A Glimpse of India’ escorted group tours. We take you to select destinations in India with a focus on art and architecture, culture and heritage, traditions and customs and of course the myriad variety of cuisines available in India! We have endeavoured to put together the best itineraries to cover different regions and special interests with a promise of more exciting tours in the future. The tours are escorted by our experienced tour leaders who have expert knowledge of the theme of the tour combined with knowledge of local conditions and an understanding of what westerners want to experience in India.
We showcase India for you – Temples and monuments, dances and cultural performances, delicious meals and dinners, local transport from rickshaws to trains, Bollywood films, shopping from textiles to jewellery and much more.

Travel With Confidence, Comfort & Care
If you prefer the legwork taken out of the planning and organising travel in a foreign country, our tours to India are ideal for you. We make your travel in India easy, safe, comfortable and enjoyable. Our tour leaders travel with the groups to ensure that every group member is well taken care of in a foreign country. Most tours require extensive walking and climbing steps which will require a reasonable level of physical fitness.
Yes, most foreign travelers need a valid visa to enter India. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival and have blank pages. You can apply online for an Indian Visa Online e-visa (available for tourism, business, and medical visits). Additionally you have to complete an online e-arrival card up to 3 days before traveling to India and an online health self-declaration form is required up to 24 hours before arrival.
Mandatory vaccinations to enter India will depend on which country you are travelling from. Please consult your Doctor at least 6 to 8 weeks before your trip regarding the need for vaccinations for travelling in India to protect your health, as some vaccines need multiple doses over several weeks.
Not included in the tour costs are most lunches and dinners. Food is relatively inexpensive in India. A simple local meal or vegetarian thali costs ₹120–₹250 ($1.50–$3 USD), while a meal at a nice mid-range restaurant is ₹300–₹600 ($3.50–$7 USD). All your accommodation, breakfasts, welcome and farewell dinners, transportation in India and entrances to monuments are included in the tour cost. You will need money for tipping guides, porters, hotel staff, waiters, drivers and their assistants. Around ₹500 to ₹1000 per day is adequate. Always keep small cash notes (₹20, ₹50, and ₹100) handy.
India has a wide range of medical facilities, including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and qualified medical professionals in major cities and tourist destinations. Our tour leaders are available to assist travellers if medical attention is required during the tour. Hotel doctors will also be available if needed. All travellers must carry all necessary personal medication, prescriptions and appropriate travel insurance.
English is widely understood in major cities, hotels, tourist areas and by many people involved in the tourism industry. Hindi is one of the most commonly spoken languages across India, although each region may also have its own local language. Learning a few simple Hindi words such as Namaste (Hello), Dhanyavaad (Thank you), Haan (Yes), Nahin (No), and Kitna? (How much?) can make communication easier and add to your travel experience. For South India tours, we will introduce you to common terms in the local languages before you commence your trip.
